For altitude sickness prevention:
Directions: Mix one full scoop or packet of Acli-Mate® with 10 ounces of cool water or to taste preference. Store any unused portion in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
The packets are especially convenient for mountain travelers while the tubs are more economical for keeping on the shelf at home.
For Best Results: Acli-Mate® is effective at reducing symptoms associated with altitude sickness when started upon arrival at your destination. However, increased benefit may be seen by using up to 3 servings daily starting 3 days prior to traveling at elevation.
For active individuals, consume Acli-Mate® 30-60 minutes prior to exercise. You may also mix up a bottle to use both during and after for sustained energy and recovery.
One to three servings daily is suggested. Adjust based upon your anticipated need.
Children and individuals sensitive to the energizing effects of B-vitamins should consider limiting the use of Acli-Mate® after 5 pm.
For Altitude Sickness Prevention & Pre - During - Post Exercise:
CYCLISTS: Recreational and competitive riders may use Acli-Mate® sport drinks at any elevation and as often as needed. All products are suitable for any age and athletic ability. For mountain events, mountain bike or road ride, 4000 feet and higher, Acli-Mate® Mountain Sport Drink is best started 3 days prior to the event. Use 1-3 servings daily depending upon your acclimatization and hydration needs. Use the morning of the event, 60-90 minutes before the start. While riding Acli-Mate® ENDURANCE Sport Drink should be used. ENDURANCE contains complex and simple carbohydrates, D-ribose, essential minerals for blood sugar stability and decreased muscle cramping, B-vitamins for efficient energy production, as well as electrolytes for optimal and sustained hydration. Dilute one scoop in 10 ounces of water for full concentration; increase or decrease your water to powder ratio based on taste preference and desired concentration. If you are cycling at lower elevations Acli-Mate® ENDURANCE and/or Acli-Mate® MOUNTAIN Sport Drinks may be used. Both provide important, performance enhancing electrolytes, B-Vitamins, CoQ10 and other nutrients to keep you riding strong and recovering quickly. RUNNERS: Acli-Mate® is an optimal sports drink for runners as the demand upon the body during trail and road running is intense. It is recommended that you try using Acli-Mate® prior to several runs at varying times. For example, use 30 minutes prior, then 60 minutes prior and 90 minutes prior to determine which usage works best for you. For long runs Acli-Mate® may be used on the trail. Hikers who gain 1000 feet or more of elevation from where they live should consider starting Acli-Mate® Mountain Sport Drink up to three days prior to beginning their hike. Acli-Mate® helps the body prepare for the stress of elevation gain and can make your hiking trip much more enjoyable. Signs of altitude sickness can occur at elevations as low as 5000 feet. In order to maximize prevention, have Acli-Mate® ready for the whole family to use before coming to elevation, while at elevation and on your hiking adventure. ENERGY SUPER SMOOTHIE: Smoothies are great way to get simple and complex carbohydrates, good fats and easily absorbable, lean proteins into your system before exercise with limited risk of digestive cramping or upset Mix one or more of the following together and consume 40-90 minutes before exercise. (Generally, runners need more time, 1-2 hours, since last meal. Cyclists, skiers and hikers usually do okay having food within 2 hours of exercise.) Berries, apples, carrot, peaches, pears, oranges, spinach, ice and either dilute juice such as real apple cider or mix with milk or a milk alternative such as coconut milk. For added fats use flaxseed, coconut or sesame oil at 1-2 teaspoons. For added protein consider adding some plain yogurt, almond butter or a protein powder (whey, brown rice or soy). To your smoothie add: 1-2 scoops of Acli-Mate® - any flavor, either the MOUNTAIN or the ENDURANCE.
